Guest Crafter Lisa Lambert from A Spotted Butterfly

As a small business, The Rare Orchid loves to connect with customers and other small businesses. We’re pleased to showcase guest crafter Lisa Lambert, the owner of Etsy shop A Spotted Butterfly, who uses chiyogami washi in her custom and ready to send cards for all occasions.

From Lisa:

"I absolutely love working with paper! I started to get more serious about card making and paper art nearly 5 years ago and finally opened an Etsy shop in early 2014."

Lisa created two birthday cards using washi paper from The Rare Orchid and All Dressed Up die cuts and rubber stamps from Stampin’ Up! The rich colors, gold accents, and beautiful floral designs of the washi paper, accessorized with delicate pearl accents, make these dresses appear straight from the runway. 

This elegant sympathy card showcases the beautiful simplicity of the washi paper available from The Rare Orchid. Lisa crafted this card by folding an origami crane, gluing it to the card, matting it with gold cardstock, then adding a gold heat embossed “With Heartfelt Sympathy” message to the bottom. 

Lisa created a custom set of 20 paper crane origami thank you cards using washi paper for an Etsy customer. She combined techniques of dry embossing, heat embossing and origami to create these memorable cards.

Lisa designed a black box to protect these one of a kind cards. She created a belly band to hold the box together out of the same washi paper from The Rare Orchid to coordinate the presentation.
